Construction Licenses in Pasco County

General

Unlimited as to the type of work which contractor may do.

Aluminum Specialty

Installation of aluminum or vinyl soffit, fascia, siding, skirting, gutters and downspouts.

Aluminum Structural

Construstion of aluminum, vinyl and fiberglass screen material. The aluminum contractor may work on foundation, slabs on grade and block knee walls, wood decks (self-standing) and utility sheds (wood studs only) less than 501 square feet, necessary to and incidental to the aluminum construction work. Shall not perform any work that alters the structural integrity of the building and shall not use wood products for rafters, trusses and wood beams.

Building

Construction of commercial buildings and single-dwelling or multiple-dwelling residential buildings, which do not exceed three stories in height, and accessory use structures in connection therewith or a contractor whose services are limited to remodeling, repair, or improvement of any size building if the services do not affect the structural members of the building.

Carpentry

Installation of any wood products for the framing inside or outside of any building or structure.

Class A Air-Conditioning

Installation of central air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilating systems, including duct work in connection with a complete system, boiler and unfired pressure vessel systems, and all appurtenances, apparatus, or equipment used in connection therewith, and any duct cleaning and equipment sanitizing that requires at least a partial disassembling of the system; if not prohibited by law, piping, insulation of pipes, vessels and ducts, pressure and process piping, and pneumatic control piping; to connect power wiring on the load side of the dedicated existing electrical disconnect switch; to install low voltage heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control wiring; and to install a condensate drain from an air-conditioning unit to an existing safe waste or other approved disposal other than a direct connection to a sanitary system.

Class B Air-Conditioning

Limited to 25 tons of cooling and 500,000 Btu of heating in any one system. Installation of central air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilating systems, including duct work in connection with a complete system only to the extent such duct work is performed by the contractor as necessary to complete an air-distribution system being installed under this classification, and any duct cleaning and equipment sanitizing that requires at least a partial disassembling of the system; to install piping and insulation of pipes, vessels, and ducts; to connect power wiring on the load side of the dedicated existing electrical disconnect switch; to install low voltage heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control wiring; and to install a condensate drain from an air-conditioning unit to an existing safe waste or other approved disposal other than a direct connection to a sanitary system.

Commercial Pool/Spa

Construction of any swimming pool, or hot tub or spa, whether public, private, existing equipment, any cleaning or equipment sanitizing that requires at least a partial disassembling, excluding filter changes, and the installation of new pool/spa equipment, interior finishes, the installation of package pool heaters, the installation of all perimeter piping and filter piping, and the construction of equipment rooms or housing for pool/spa equipment.

Concrete

Construction of pouring and finishing of concrete floors and foundations designed to accept any structure when in the design of that structure a footer is required.

Demolition

Demolition and removal of structures, such as dwellings, commercial buildings and foundations.

Drywall

Installation of gypsum drywall products to wood and metal studs, wood and steel joists and metal runners in buildings of unlimited area and height.

Electrical

Installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduit, or any part thereof, which generates, transmits, transforms, or utilizes electrical energy in any form, including the electrical installations and systems within plants and substations.

Finish Carpentry

Construction of performing a decorative type of woodwork either inside or outside of a structure.

Garage Door

Installation of new or replacement garage doors.

Glass and Glazing

Installation of metal frame windows and sliding glass doors into existing openings of new, existing single-family residential structures, metal frame windows and sliding glass doors into altered openings or structures other than single family residential structures, all makes and kinds of glass and glasswork including the execution of glazing, frames, panels, sashes and doors, metal frames, ornamental decoration, mirror, or tub or shower enclosures.

Hurricane Protection

Installation of hurricane shutter assemblies and similar products.

Insulation

Installation of insulation on or in walls and attics.

Irrigation Sprinkler

Installation of the connections to a water pump, piping and sprinkler heads for irrigation of lawns.

Marine

Construction of seawalls, bulkheads, revetments, docks, piers, wharves, groins, and other marine structures, to include pile driving.

Masonry

Erection of the selection, cutting, or laying brick and other clay products, rough cut or dress stone, artificial stone or precast blocks or structural glass brick or block.

Mechanical

Installation of central air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilating systems, including duct work in connection with a complete system if such duct work is performed by the contractor as necessary to complete an air-distribution system, boiler and unfired pressure vessel systems, lift station equipment and piping, and all appurtenances, apparatus, or equipment used in connection therewith, and any duct cleaning and equipment sanitizing that requires at least a partial disassembling of the system; to install piping, insulation of pipes, vessels and ducts, pressure and process piping, pneumatic control piping, gasoline tanks and pump installations and piping for same, standpipes, air piping, vacuum line piping, oxygen lines, nitrous oxide piping, ink and chemical lines, fuel transmission lines, liquefied petroleum gas lines within buildings, and natural gas fuel lines within buildings; to connect power wiring on the load side of the dedicated existing electrical disconnect switch; to install low voltage heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control wiring; and to install a condensate drain from an air-conditioning unit to an existing safe waste or other approved disposal other than a direct connection to a sanitary system.

Painting

Application of paperhanging, sandblasting and waterproofing and may clean and paint roofs, sidewalks, driveways, the use of spraying equipment as well as hand tools to finish both exterior and interior work.

Plastering and Stucco

Mixture of sand and other aggregate gypsum plaster, Portland cement or quicklime and water or any combination of such material as to create a permanent surface coating.

Plumbing

Construction of sanitary drainage or storm drainage facilities; venting systems; public or private water supply systems; septic tanks; drainage and supply wells; swimming pool piping; irrigation systems; or solar heating water systems and all appurtenances, apparatus, or equipment used in connection therewith, including boilers and pressure process piping and including the installation of water, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and related venting, and storm and sanitary sewer lines; and water and sewer plants and substations, installation of air-piping, vacuum line piping, oxygen line piping, nitrous oxide piping, and all related medical gas systems; fire line standpipes and fire sprinklers if authorized by law; ink and chemical lines; fuel oil and gasoline piping and tank and pump installation, except bulk storage plants; and pneumatic control piping systems, all in a manner that complies with all plans.

Residential

Construction of one-family, two-family, or three-family residences not exceeding two habitable stories above no more than one uninhabitable story and accessory use structures in connection therewith.

Residential Pool/Spa

Installation of existing equipment, any cleaning or equipment sanitizing that requires at least a partial disassembling, excluding filter changes, and the installation of new pool/spa equipment, interior finishes, the installation of package pool heaters, the installation of all perimeter piping and filter piping, and the construction of equipment rooms or housing for pool/spa equipment.

Roofing

Installation of all kinds of roofing, waterproofing, and coating, except when coating is not represented to protect, repair, waterproof, stop leaks, or extend the life of the roof, roof-deck attachments and any repair or replacement of wood roof sheathing or fascia as needed during roof repair or replacement.

Sheet Metal

Erection of ferrous or nonferrous metal work of U.S. No. 10 gauge or its equivalent or lighter gauge and of other materials, including, but not limited to, fiberglass, used in lieu thereof and of air-handling systems, including the setting of air-handling equipment and reinforcement of same, the balancing of air-handling systems, and any duct cleaning and equipment sanitizing that requires at least a partial disassembling of the system.

Sign, Electrical

Installation of any electrical wires, apparatus, raceways, conduit or any part thereof on electrical signs.

Sign, Non-Electrical

Installation of nonelectrical signs.

Solar Energy Installation

Construction of any solar hot water heating system for residences or pools, including collectors, storage and expansion tanks, heat exchangers, piping, valves, pumps, sensors and low-voltage controls which connect to existing plumbing or electrical stubouts.

Structural Steel

Erection of structural steel shapes and plates, including such minor field fabrication as may be necessary, of any profile, perimeter or cross section, that are or may be used as structural members for building and structures, including riveting, welding, and rigging.

Swimming Pool/Spa Servicing

Construction of a swimming pool, or hot tub or spa, whether public or private, repair of existing equipment, any cleaning or equipment sanitizing that requires at least a partial disassembling, excluding filter changes, and the installation of new pool/spa equipment, interior refinishing, the reinstallation or addition of pool heaters, the repair or replacement of all perimeter piping and filter piping, the repair of equipment rooms or housing for pool/spa equipment, and the substantial or complete draining of a swimming pool, or hot tub or spa, for the purpose of repair or renovation. Does not include direct connections to a sanitary sewer system or to potable water lines. The installation of equipment permanently attached to and associated with the pool or spa for the purpose of water treatment or cleaning of the pool or spa requires licensure.

Tile, Marble, and Terrazzo

Installation of setting tile or marble, or mix, prepare or finish terrazzo.
